You exist because of the earth.

You will live and most die on earth.

Yet we hide from the earth, from nature.

We sequester ourselves from nature as much as possible. We move from climate-controlled bubbles where we live, travel in smaller climate controlled bubbles, and work in climate-controlled bubbles. We complain about those fleeting moments when we need to travel between our climate-controlled bubbles.

It is sad.

Get to know the earth. Get dirty. Get sweaty. Get bit by bugs.

Look at birds. Look at bugs. Look at trees. Look at a square foot of dirt for ten minutes in meditation.

Participate in nature rather than just look at it.

Sleep on the earth, her caress isn’t soft, but it is reassuring.

The bounties the earth provides are incredible, but we are beholden to her, as much as we try to uphold appearances otherwise.
